Trans Trio ‘The Gurls’ to Perform New Single at the 2023 TEAs

LOS ANGELES, CA - Musical trio The Gurls released their new single “Tell Me” today and is slated to perform it live for the first time at the upcoming Trans Erotica Awards presented by Ponhub on March 17, 2023 in Hollywood, CA.

The Gurls’ upcoming performance at the TEAs will be in its newest incarnation, with founding members Domino Presley and Alissah, and welcoming former Secret Girls member, Raquel Starr.

“This song is a catchy pop song that has sounds from girl groups of the past,” said Presley. “It’s like a really dirty Spice Girls song but with three Trans Women. Alissah and I wrote this song and when I was writing the chorus, I kept hearing my friend's voice in my head singing it, so we asked Raquel if she would come in and lay some vocals for the chorus. We all vibed so well and naturally that we ended up asking her to turn our duo into a trio. And here we are now.”

The Gurls is scheduled to perform as the TEAs opening act this Sunday at the Avalon. Presley also serves as the TEAs official Mistress of Ceremonies. She added, “We’re basically going to bring the music video of ‘Tell Me’ to the stage for the Trans Erotica Awards. This will be our first time performing live as a trio and we are beyond honored that it will be at the world's only Trans Award show. I really really appreciate Steven and Kristel asking us to open the show again this year. Last year we performed as Alissah featuring Domino, this year we have two singles and music videos under our belts, a shit ton of performances (in the US as well as overseas) and are performing as THE GURLS.”

Alissah said, “We’re super excited about what’s to come. We’re elated to have our debut album come together so effortless. We’re finally a real girl group! The awards are always exciting. But this year it’s so much trans empowerment and visibility that it’s so inspiring. Our sound is so unique once we blend together.”

Raquel Starr added, “When I found out that The Gurls wanted me to be part of this amazing project I was ecstatic! I’m very happy to be joining the iconic Domino Presley and Alissah in this amazing musical experience. I was nervous but I know I can meet their expectations. After they asked me to lay the vocals and be part of this sisterhood and amazing project, I realized that our journey had just begun. I will say that I have been having the most inspiring time having these two sisters next to me helping me to believe in myself when I had doubts and it has made this project stronger and turned this girl group into an amazing friendship and I can’t wait for our future…which looks like a lot of fun!”

Alissah and Starr were members of different lineups of the world’s first trans girl group, The Secret Girls. The group was conceived and led by trans recording artist and television personality, Nikki Exotica.

Fans will get a sneak peek at ‘Tell Me’ ahead of the music video’s official release on March 24, 2023. Produced by B. Ames, ‘Temm Me’ is the directorial debut of JETERBYDAMETER and the Gurls, with choreography by JETERDAMETER.

“The video is cute,” Presley exclaimed. “It’s giving Trans TLC, Sugababes, Destiny’s Child realness. We styled the entire video ourselves. We, along with our longtime choreographer, Jeter (from HBO Max’s LEGENDARY Season 1), directed the video. And when I say ‘we,’ I mean mostly Jeter and Alissah.  I have previous experience in directing and organizing a shoot day from being in adult for so long and whenever I worked on mainstream music video sets, but the one thing that stood out the most is how horribly unorganized and chaotic their sets were. We ran an entire day smoothly with no hiccups, no drama, and we finished two hours early (insert massive hair toss).”

Domino Presley is an American Adult Film performer, model, director, and Adult Talent Agent who first debuted in the adult industry in 2010 with her first scenes for GroobyGirls.com. Since then she has worked with some of the biggest companies in adult entertainment, including Wicked, Evil Angel, Grooby, GenderX, Transational Fantasies, and TransAngels.

Presley has racked up numerous nominations and awards during her illustrious career. Notably, she was one of the first trans performers to be nominated for a non-trans-specific award (XBIZ Best VR Sex Scene), which she won in 2019. In addition to her multiple TEA wins, she also serves as the official TEA Mistress of Ceremonies.

Originally from Atlanta, GA, Presley started out as a Drag Performer under the name Jazmin Aviance. She still performs and competes in the Ballroom Scene as Jazmin Balenciaga. In 2022, she co-founded the pop group, The Gurls. Presley made her debut performance at the 2022 TEAs in March appearing on-stage with trans recording artist Alissah. Since their hit performance earlier this year, Presley has continued to pour her talents into cultivating her music career. Alissah and Presley then combined musical forces to create the pop group, The Gurls, with an alternating third spot reserved for other LGBTQ performers to join the duo.  After a busy summer for The Gurls, Presley and Alissah returned to the recording studio and invited Rupaul’s Drag Race alum Gia Gunn to appear on their latest track, “Glamour.”

“I still feel the bass of our song in my feet and legs,” said Presley. “It was a phenomenal performance and I couldn’t be any prouder of my sisters, Alissah and Gia Gunn. The crowd went wild when Gia entered the stage and I’m glad we were able to give that little gift to Atlanta. This was a great moment for us as The Gurls.”

Alissah added, “It was such an amazing pride weekend in Atlanta. Premiering our first single and performing it was incredible. The energy the crowd gave us was pure magic. Thank you wussy, Phoenix, and Atlanta Pride for giving us the opportunity to showcase our talents.”

The Gurls performed their latest single, “Glamour,” at Atlanta’s famed Starlight Cabaret as part of Atlanta Pride 2022. The venue erupted into cheers when The Gurls surprised the crowd by welcoming Rupaul’s Drag Race alum Gia Gunn to the stage.

Gunn stated, “It was such a great honor to be able to perform at this year’s Atlanta Pride!  After years of being separated, it felt amazing to be together again.  Being on stage doing the choreography with Alissah and Domino reminded me why I love doing what I do!”

The Gurls’ recent Atlanta Pride performance represented a homecoming show for Alissah and Presley, who spent their early careers in the Atlanta drag scene and performing at Starlight Cabaret for years. The Gurls’ official music video for their latest single, “Glamour,” racked up over 22,000 views on YouTube within the last two days.

Presley and The Gurls Co-Founder, Alissah, made their stage debut at the 2022 TEAs in Hollywood, CA, where Presley also served as the Mistress of Ceremonies. Their performance of Alissah’s hit song, “Daddy,” was met with a roaring standing ovation from the audience. The two combined musical forces to create pop group, The Gurls, with an alternating third spot reserved for other LGBTQ performers to join the duo.

The Sky’s the Limit for Domino Presley with New Musical Endeavor, The Gurls

LAS VEGAS, NV - Award-winning performer Domino Presley has transcended her success in the adult industry and set her sights on musical stardom with The Gurls, a musical group created by her and trans recording artist Alissah. The Gurls made their official stage debut at this year’s London Pride in front of thousands of fans where they performed alongside Vampire Diaries star Kat Graham as featured guests on her hit summer anthem, “Woof.”

“There were thousands upon thousands of happy Pride goers cheering and dancing to a song we are featured on,” mused Presley, “It was unreal and quite magical performing live in front of a crowd that size.”

Alissah echoed Presley’s sentiments. “Performing ‘Woof’ was such an amazing moment. It validated what we had been doing and also solidified that we are here to stay.”

Presley, who also goes by the stage name Domino Balenciaga, first teased the audience at the 2022 Trans Erotica Awards and appeared in trans recording artist Alissah’s opening number. The audience erupted with cheers during her rap verse of the YouTube exclusive remix of Alissah’s hit song, “Daddy.”

Since the performance back in March, Presley has continued to pour her talents into cultivating her music career. Alissah and Presley then combined musical forces to create the pop group, The Gurls, with an alternating third spot reserved for other LGBTQ performers to join the duo.  After a busy summer for The Gurls, Presley and Alissah returned to the recording studio and invited Rupaul’s Drag Race alum Gia Gunn to appear on their upcoming track, “Glamour.”

“I’m so excited to announce we have our first single dropping in the beginning of October, just in time for Halloween and Atlanta Pride,” explained Presley. “It’s definitely a dance song and with a title like Glamour we thought it only appropriate to feature my good sis Miss Gia Gunn after her viral post asking, ‘where is the glamour?’ The song is produced by B.Ames and has tons of attitude with some Ballroom/Vogue vibes. I obviously had to give a shout-out to the house I’m in, House of Balenciaga. You should most definitely expect a music video as well”

“It’s been a while since I’ve felt inspired to do music but this collaboration is so special because we are embracing sisterhood, being visible, and most importantly, demonstrating trans power!” added Gunn. “I can’t wait to see you all have fun with this new bop!”

Alissah is excited about the release of “Glamour.” She stated, “It’s evolved into this sexy, strong anthem of self-love. It’s a vibe and we are excited to be at the clubs with this song.”
