Kristel Penn Presents “Finding a SWer Affirming Mental Health Provider” Workshop at InterNEXT Expo

LAS VEGAS, NV – Grooby’s Kristel Penn will present their popular “Finding a SWer Affirming Mental Health Provider” educational workshop this Friday as part of the InterNEXT Expo.

“I’ve been doing this workshop for several years at our industry conferences and will continue to do so for as long as there is a need for it,” explained Penn. “Whether you already have a provider or are considering your options for mental health resources, this workshop is structured to empower performers to find a competent and affirming provider that fits their specific needs.”

In addition to Penn’s responsibilities as Grooby’s longtime Creative and Editorial Director, they are an MFT (marriage and family therapist) trainee at the LGBTQ Center in Orange County wrapping up their MA in Psychology. Penn has presented educational workshops to both industry and non-industry professionals for over eight years at numerous conferences across the United States. In 2022, Penn teamed up with Domino Presley to offer group therapy and letter of support services through the ‘Jazmin Shibata Scholarship,’ a financial scholarship for trans sex workers founded by Presley herself.

Penn is presenting “Finding a SWer Affirming Mental Health Provider (For Performers)” on Friday, January 6, from 1-2pm at the HERstory Stripchat Lounge: Meeting Room 5.

The workshop description is as follows:

Navigating the mental health system can be a labyrinth filled with confusing technical jargon, safety and privacy concerns, plus the fear of being judged and discriminated against because of your profession. Not to mention the extra task of finding a competent and affirming therapist who understands the unique concerns of being a sex worker.  This workshop outlines the different types of mental health service providers and other important terminology, how to find a therapist and select a therapist, and client expectations and rights.

Sexual Improv: Kink on the Fly Workshop with Amberly Rothfield

Adult industry veteran Amberly Rothfield returns to San Francisco to teach as part of Kink.com's educational series. This is the second time Rothfield will be teaching at Kink's Armory Tours.

San Francisco, CA – If a lover asks for dirty talk, but your tongue is left dry and fumbling for words…this can slaughter a sensual mood! After a packed workshop on how to talk dirty like a phone sex operator, adult industry veteran and educator Amberly Rothfield returns to San Francisco for her second workshop at Kink.com's headquarters. For her upcoming class, Sexual Improv: Kink on the Fly, Rothfield is teaching how to be spontaneous in the sack verbally. Utilizing all of the senses, when it is time to get down is extremely important for those mind-blowing orgasms that we are always chasing.

“This class is unique in that it is audience directed! The audience chooses what my scene would look like,” says Rothfield, a 13-year veteran of the phone sex industry and dirty talk extraordinaire. “It is then my job to construct a sexual conversation from thin air. Think Mad Libs for kink. Doing this several times, I begin to show my process of keeping it sexy but keeping it fresh.”

The audience is implored to join in and make the scene as crazy as possible for Rothfield. Using a tinge of humor to take the fear out of smutty speech, she strives to keep the ambiance airy, informative and most of all, fun. The audio portion of sex doesn’t have to be just moans or groans but also what helps set that mental scene which catapults a play session. Being as sex is usually pretty much never scripted, this means having the skill set to continue with the scene with a strong presence can only heighten the pleasure for you and your partner.

“Being able to partner again with Kink.com is not only an honor but unbelievable,” added Rothfield. “Working with them last time was so easy, professional and their platform is so wide-reaching! I hope to continue being able to offer workshops on how to work one’s voice into play settings effectively.”

The class will be held in San Francisco at The Armory Club on December 27,2018. Class does start at 7pm and goes to 9pm by a meet and greet following immediately after!

Paradigm Net Media to Host VR Educational Workshop for APAC Members on July 9th in Hollywood

Paradigm Net Media, the adult industry’s leading VR consultancy group, will be hosting a free educational workshop for APAC members on July 9th at 8pm at Boardners in Hollywood, CA. Presented by industry veteran, Telly, the 1.5 hour presentation will cover a wide variety of VR topics for performers to help better prepare them for the growing VR marketplace.

Los Angeles, CA - Adult industry VR expert and content creator, Telly from Paradigm Net Media, is scheduled to present an educational workshop for APAC members on July 9th at 8pm at Boardners in Hollywood, CA. Hosted by APAC, the workshop is free to attend by APAC members and all active performers (performing in the last year) by signing up to join at the event.

"The goal of this seminar is to show APAC members that VR content creation is within their reach and how the methodology of minimal viable products coupled with Paradigm Net Media's ‘Three C's’ philosophy can help them create immersive experiences for their fans,” stated Telly, technology curator for Paradigm Media. “It is our belief that only through the market of diverse erotic experiences can we generate consumer confidence in VR as a profitable and viable long-term venture.”

The extensive workshop will cover important topics like current market trends and untapped content opportunities while explaining the philosophy of minimal viable products and how APAC members can create their own content using readily available hardware. Telly will outline new technologies in the marketplace, including YouTube’s recent addition of 3D180 to their VR offerings, and a general overview of Paradigm Net Media’s trials and tribulations in creating a workflow for achieving a concept they coin as the “Three C’s of importance” for VR: comfort, content, and clarity.

Telly continued, “We believe the best way to elevate the VR niche in porn is by sharing information and resources with others: what works, what doesn’t work, and the idea that success can be shared without dilution of profits. We’re particularly excited about the opportunity to present this workshop to APAC members, as we’re seeing more and more performers taking content creation into their own hands. We’d like to help create a more diverse content landscape in porn, which in turn, can potentially turn into higher profits for both VR producers and performers. We are very thankful for Ela Darling and everyone at APAC for allowing us this opportunity to converse and share with our industry friends.”
